Went Snowshoeing today at the base of Okemo Mountain outside of Ludlow, VT. Snowshoes work by distributing the weight of the person over a larger area so that the person's foot does not sink completely into the snow, a quality called "flotation”. Apparently there is a weight limit, my shoes were broken, I’m doing it wrong, or the snow wasn’t of flotation quality. I did manage to get some good shots at a railroad crossing along the way, but Snowshoeing, yeah, it’s a lot of work!
